Manikarnika beats Tanu Weds Manu Returns to score the highest single day collection for a Kangana Ranaut film

Manikarnika has seen a huge upward trend yesterday and the Republic Day holiday has much to do with it along with positive word of mouth. In one day, it earned Rs 18.10 crore which is a huge number for a women-centric film. It is also the highest any Kangana Ranaut film has earned in one single day. And by doing so it has also left Tanu Weds Manu Returns behind her. The latter till date had the highest single day number for any Kangana film with Rs 16.10 crore in its kitty.

Check out the latest box office collection of Manikarnika here...

Enough has been said about Kangana Ranaut taking over the reins of Manikarnika as a director from Krish, halfway through the film. It created a huge ruckus with many actors walking out. When we met up with Kangana to talk all things Rani Lakshmibai, we asked her about the many exits from the film and the actress said, "They blatantly refused to work with me and called me incompetent as a director. But they have not been on my set. They did not have a meeting with me. So how do they know I am incompetent as a director and left the film on the basis of my incompetence. That's a perception that ye ladki kya kar legi. What else is it?"

Clearly, Kangana can do fine at the box office even without their contribution.
