Nakuul Mehta-Surbhi Chandna starrer Ishqbaaaz is a brand in itself. Since the show went on air, the unique out-of-the-box storyline and the intense chemistry of Anika (Surbhi Chandna) and Shivaay (Nakuul Mehta) has become the USP of the show. Though the show focuses on the lives of three brothers and their love interests, Surbhi and Nakuul have become the faces of the show. They have made the show reach new heights that very few shows have. Thus, when rumours went rife that Surbhi will be quitting the show, fans couldn't take it. They started trending #nosurbhinoishqbaaaz. As the makers wanted to take a leap and start a new track of Anika and Shivaay's modern parenting, Surbhi was not comfortable playing a mother and thus the makers had to take a different call. They have now decided to take the show to season 2 where they will be featuring the life of Shivaansh, who is Anika and Shivaay's son. And this role will be played by Nakuul himself. And after keeping mum about her exit for a few days until things were finalised, Surbhi took to social media to sign off as Anika and promised fans that she would be back in a new avatar very soon. This didn't go well with the fans and now they have started trending #EndIshqbaaaz.
Fans feel that without Surbhi, the show will not work and that it should end. Some feel that the makers should take this decision as Surbhi is irreplaceable and will never cease being the face of the show. Many others have even decided to quit watching television.

Surbhi didn't urge us to continue watching IB. Surbhi didn't praise Gul or take the blame on herself or mislead us in anyway. She was true and loyal to her fans and only sent us her love and we need to give it back to her. Keep on fighting fandom, we can do it.#EndIshqbaaaz

All this just shows the craze amongst fans for Surbhi. However, the reality is that the show is not doing well on the ratings chart nor is it doing great on the digital platform. So, the makers have no choice but to bring a change to the save the show being axed by the channel. It is seen that often a revamp or generation leap has worked in the past (Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Naamkarann on Star Plus). And so we think that fans should not forget that no actor is bigger than the show. Also, it is all thanks to Gul Khan that the viewers got Anika in the first place. The revolt and the emotions are justified but with a heavy heart they must accept the change and give the makers a chance to entertain them.
Word is that Sonal Vengurlekar will be playing the lead opposite Nakuul post the leap. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.
