From twirling at his own wedding in a pink manarkali to applying sindoor after, here's how Ranveer Singh is breaking gender stereotypes one picture at a time

We knew that Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone made a handsome couple. But all our expectations felt short by leaps when we saw the power couple as Man and Wife. Not exaggerating, but we did not prepare for the waterworks that followed after glancing (JK, ogling) at their royal and regal wedding pictures that looked straight out of a dream. It is hard to fathom; how can two people so belong with each other like they do? While we are not sure there's a reason to that, we do know that it is their love that worked the trick. Their binding and unfaltering love for each other that gave us books on #RelationshipGoals. (Also Read: Feel like getting married after seeing Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone's dreamy pics? You have Karan Johar and Sonakshi Sinha for company)

Having said that, we are here today to take sides. Of course, it's late for the 'Ladkiwale' and 'Ladkewale' shenanigans and we are here to just confess that the DeepVeer wedding was much more than a high-profile B-town wedding that happened at the picturesque Lake Como in Italy. It was an open challenge to all the grooms-to-be to be more gender-neutral and comfortable in their own skin, just like B-town's Baba! A living testament of how masculinity looks when it is not at the disposal of obsolete patriarchal ideas and stems from a place of confidence and security.

Now be it the way he was twirling at his own wedding, in a soft-pink manarkali that pretty sure would have urged others to shake a leg.

Or by the way, he chose to wear sindoor (even if it's in the form of a teeka) after, like his wife...

Ranveer is the definition of the modern-day groom who isn't afraid to bend conventions and set precedents. And lovely ones at that. Of course, this isn't the first time the actor has decided to do so. Be it wearing nose-rings for photo shoots to wearing frills under his sherwani for film promotions, he truly has done everything there is to do. Must say, while he is lucky to marry the woman of his dreams, Deepika is luckier to marry the man whose idea of manhood is everything we need in the world right now. We are raising a glass to you, Ranveer! Thank you for showing us how it is done.
