Earlier this year, in the month of February, Salman Khan had filed an appeal against the verdict of Rajasthan's court, which had sentenced him for 5 years of imprisonment for killing the endangered species of Blackbuck in 1998. But due to some reasons, the appeal got delayed to April 3. So finally, the heard of this appeal will be heard today in Jodhpur. The Blackbuck incident happened when Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre, Salman Khan and Neelam were shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hain.
While Saif, Neelam, Tabu and Sonali were acquitted in the last hearing, Salman was convicted and was sentenced for 5 years of Jail. He was charged under the sections of under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act and others under Section 51 read with Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code. The actor had even spent a night in Jail and later was released on bail. Salman Khan's lawyer Anand Desai said in a statement, "ln the present case the Hon'ble Court has acquitted all the 5 co-accused which would imply that Salman was out hunting alone in the middle of the night in a remote area outside Jodhpur. We have preferred an appeal to the Hon'ble Sessions Court and applied for an urgent hearing today ."
On the professional front, Salman Khan will be next seen in Bharat, which also stars Katrina Kaif in a key role. Interestingly, both the stars will have five different looks in it, which will showcase their journey from 18 to 60 years. It is the official remake of a Korean film titled, An Ode To My Father. It marks the third collaboration between Salman and director Ali Abbas Zafar after Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai and the film also stars Disha Patani, Sunil Grover and Nora Fatehi in pivotal roles. Bharat is set to hit the screens during the Eid weekend of 2019.
