To recognize the more than 3 million graduating seniors nationwide — and to give them a first-of-its-kind celebration they’ll never forget — XQ Institute, The LeBron James Family Foundation and The Entertainment Industry Foundation have announced an upcoming special called Graduate Together: America Honors the High School Class of 2020.
The one-hour primetime event will air simultaneously across ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC on May 16, and will also be available to stream on TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Complex Networks, PEOPLE and other online platforms.
“We learned early on in our work with students and families in Akron that education is so much more than academics,” LeBron James, who will address graduates during the broadcast, said in a statement. “It’s about a shared experience, a journey we’re all on together — students, parents, educators, community members, and everyone around them.”
“With that not being possible right now, we’ve been working to find ways to help families get through this really difficult time,” James, 35, added. “These students have worked incredibly hard for this, and there’s no way we can let that go unrecognized.”
Produced by Done + Dusted and SpringHill Entertainment, Graduate Together will be curated by high school students and educators across the country with the support of the American Federation of Teachers.
In addition to the NBA star, the commercial-free broadcast will feature a collection of commencement addresses and celebrity performances by Malala Yousafzai, the Jonas Brothers, Yara Shahidi, H.E.R., Bad Bunny, Lena Waithe, Pharrell Williams, Megan Rapinoe, Ben Platt and others.
“Our country’s teachers and support personnel have been on the front lines keeping students engaged, comforted, and supported during this time of incredible upheaval. Educators want their kids to be okay,” Randi Weingarten, the President of the American Federation of Teachers, said in a statement. “And even if we are physically apart, we are eager to celebrate our students’ accomplishments alongside parents, family members, and caregivers as we try to bring this school year to a meaningful close.”
“We are grateful to all our teachers and school staff and proud to join in this effort to bring together education professionals from across the country and honor graduates as they embark on their next journey,” Weingarten continued.

The program is also planning to feature profiles of students and educators who have made a difference in their schools and communities.
To help tell these inspirational stories, the show’s producers are inviting graduates, teachers, and parents to share their achievements, real-world advice, and heartfelt thanks for a chance to be featured on the broadcast and in an upcoming issue of PEOPLE.
Those interested in nominating an outstanding senior or educator worthy of recognition — or yourself! — can visit GraduateTogether2020.com. Up to five featured graduates will be eligible to receive a $5,000 award. Entries must be received by Friday, May 8 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
“While this won’t be the graduation experience were supposed to get, we hope we can still give them something special,” James said. “Because they deserve it.”
Graduate Together is set to air on Saturday, May 16 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC.

Darren Criss had described the happiest day in his life, his wedding, just a few days before what is likely to be one of the saddest. On April 26, Darren’s father died. He was 78.
The Glee alum, 33, announced the death in an Instagram post on Monday, writing in a statement, “Bill Criss has left the building. After many years of coping with a rare heart condition — which, true to his form, very few would have even been aware of — he finally checked out peacefully yesterday morning, surrounded by his loved ones.” Of his father, he wrote: “I’ve spent most of my life trying to be like him, wanting to see and do all the incredible things he did — and I’m so grateful he was around to see me actually pull a few off.”
One of the things Darren pulled off was a very joyous wedding. When he spoke to PEOPLE, he had just celebrated his one-year anniversary. He first met Mia Swier through mutual friends in 2006 and they began dating four years later, right around the time as he joined the cast of Glee. Last year, they got married in New Orleans.
“It’s been a year since the wedding,” Darren says. “That was one of the most incredible events of my entire life. The most magical experience. Say what you will about the construct of marriage and tradition: weddings are amazing.”
For more from Darren Criss, pick up this week’s issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands FridayDarren and Mia (who took his last name) got married around the same time several of their friends also tied the knot. “People would tell us, ‘Oh, your wedding is going to be the most incredible night.’ And I was like, really? Because I’ve had some really good nights — and days, okay? It can’t be the most, maybe top five. But our wedding, well, it took the cake.”

The pair were married in a multi-day celebration in New Orleans. Darren surprised her with a concert. And she, also a musician, joined the stage. Glee castmate Lea Michele performed as well.
“It was a magical and crazy thing. If I could, I’d get married every year for the rest of my life,” he says.
The actor is settling into the idea of marriage — and business ownership. Darren and Mia own a piano bar in Hollywood, Tramp Stamp Granny’s.
“This feels right. Married. The idea of marriage was not something I gravitated to earlier in life. It’s almost painfully cliché but boys grow up slower. Girl just mature faster. This is science. I am definitely no exception. I will say this: I dragged my feet.” He laughs. “But, we were together for a long time before. By that point in our lives, it was a validation and sharing of our life and existence. In many ways, it’s not been a change at all.”
He credits his wife for much of his success.
“We have been the ultimate plus-ones out here for each other for 10 years. My dreams and ambition have always been the driving force in my life. It was the gas in my tank. It almost consumed me,” he says.
“Some people were slighted by that,” says Darren. “But Mia never was. I am so grateful for her — every day.”

Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer is known for her candor— and she’s never been more real than now.
Messer is the mother of three daughters: 10-year-old twins Aliannah and Aleeah with ex Corey Simms, and 7-year-old Adalynn with ex Jeremy Calvert. The star’s romantic ups and downs, as well as her struggles as a young mom, have been caught on camera since 2010. But in her upcoming memoir, Hope, Grace & Faith, Messer tells her own story for the first time, revealing painful moments from her past. The 28-year-old details being sexually abused by a babysitter when she was about 5 years old, her struggles before and after daughter Ali’s diagnosis of a rare form of muscular dystrophy, and how depression — coupled with an addiction to pain pills — led to suicidal thoughts.
“At the end of the day, if I was going to own my story and own my truth, I was going to own it all,” she tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. “That was the whole purpose behind the writing process, the passion behind my book, all the drive that I had behind it. open up and allow others to see all the imperfections, because it’s okay. We’re perfectly imperfect and we get to embrace every imperfection that comes our way, all the adversity, no matter what.”
Below, Messer discusses the biggest bombshells from Hope, Grace & Faith, out May 5.
In Hope, Grace & Faith, the star opens up about becoming addicted to pills she’d been prescribed to manage back pain following the birth of Adalynn in 2013. Messer writes that her guilt over Ali’s struggles — and devastation over the end of her marriage to Calvert (they divorced in 2015) — led her to take a painkiller one day in 2015 before jumping into her car. She then found herself driving down a hill in West Virginia, with her foot hard on the gas.
In the book, Messer writes that she could “barely see the road through the tears” and checked the backseat to make sure her girls weren’t with her. Her car got up to 110 mph.
“There’s a steep cliff off the side of the road just up ahead. It would be so easy to drive my car over the edge,” Messer writes. “Then it would all be over. No more worries. No more failure. No more pain… Everyone would be better off.”
Fortunately, Messer slowed down and pulled over.
“A lifetime of tears comes pouring out of the deepest part of my soul. I cry so hard I wonder if I’ll ever be able to stop,” she writes. “Then a thought cuts through the deafening static in my brain: My daughters need me.”
“It was so scary because I just didn’t feel worthy enough. I didn’t feel that I was good enough to be their mom,” Messer tells PEOPLE of the incident. “It was definitely a turning point for me when I realized that I was legit trying to take my own life. The car was going so fast and I was watching it and I was so angry. That was it for me. That’s when I realized like, ‘All right, Leah, you’ve got to do something.'”

When Messer got home after the driving incident, she listened to a message waiting for her from Teen Mom 2‘s producer, Larry Musnik. He had seen alarming footage of her in the car and called to check on her, according to the book. Musnik had already been encouraging her to go to rehab. This time, Messer decided to listen to him, she writes. (MTV has not responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment.)
“I went to a facility in Arizona, it was here in Tucson. Best place that I’ve ever went to in my life,” Messer tells PEOPLE. “For me it felt like, as silly as it sounds, I didn’t go to college, so it felt like college for me. … It was a schedule, a routine, stability, structure. It was just so empowering for me going there.”
She adds: “There are different tracks that you can go to in a facility. For me, it was like laying that foundation for me to be the person that I am today.”
In the book, Messer alleges that when she was 5 or 6 years old, her teenage babysitter touched her inappropriately. The abuse went on for six months, and Messer never told anyone, she writes.
“My mom didn’t understand why I screamed every time I went to the babysitter’s house. It was because I was being sexually abused there, and my mom, she didn’t have much support,” Messer tells PEOPLE. “Reliving those times was really hard, but it was also therapeutic for me. … I could go back and really truly allow myself to heal from the child abuse that I went through.”
Messer also writes about struggles with her parents, but she says that she now she’s on great terms with her mom, Dawn.
“My mom had started reading the book. It was really hard for her to read the book, but the relationship with my mom now is like, I finally have a mom that loves me. I finally feel like I have a mom that my kids can look up to for a grandma. It’s changed my entire family,” Messer says. “The other day my mom brought a gift, which I’m not used to being given, and I realized it’s okay to love yourself and accept gifts and accept acknowledgement. That has changed my entire dynamic. For that, I’ll forever be grateful. I would do it all over again to have the family that I finally have now.”
Eight years ago, Messer was still dealing with her feelings for Corey Simms (the father of her twins) when she learned that she was pregnant with then-fiancé Jeremy Calvert’s baby. She and Calvert struggled with news of the pregnancy and, following conversations with her mom and another person in her circle, Messer decided to take abortion pills, she writes in the book. After Messer called Teen Mom 2 producers to tell them she had “lost the baby,” her distress over what she said at the time was a miscarriage — but was actually the painful aftermath of an abortion —was caught on film. (Dawn declined to comment on her daughter’s claims to PEOPLE.)
“Looking back now, I just wish I would have owned it. I wish I would’ve owned what was going on,” Messer says. “ fearful of what everyone was going to say … but I’m not going to dwell on the decision I made at that time. I’m going to rise above the decision I made and learn from that experience.”
At 4 years old, Ali was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy, a genetic disease that causes progressive weakness and loss of muscle mass.
“It’s still scary because Ali is the research. The disease that she has is one in one million,” Messer says of coping with the 2014 diagnosis. “There’s not very many people that have it. And as she grows, we learn more about it.”
She continues: “The hardest part was it being unknown and being okay with it being unknown. It took me a while to get to that place where it’s like, it doesn’t matter. She’s so resilient. She’s so determined. Yes, she gets people staring, but she knows her worth. She knows what she’s capable of, and there’s nothing that’s going to stop her. But I think, honestly, the hardest part is just it being unknown and, as a mom, wanting to fix all of it and not being able to.”
“Jeremy and I get along great. As I’ve allowed myself to discover who I want to be in my life, who I get to be and who I want to be, that relationship didn’t align with my life and who I am today,” Messer says. “Do we co-parent great? Yes. Jeremy is someone I can actually call and openly vent to. Does he have a big mouth? Yes. That’s Jeremy. Does Jeremy have a filter? No. But at the end of the day we get along great and we’re like friends… We have a really great co-parenting relationship and our daughter sees that. She’s happy and at the end of the day she is what matters.”
The star also opened up about her relationship with Corey Simms and his new wife, Miranda.
“Corey and I co-parent well. He’s so happy with his family. They’re beautiful. I mean, we did drive by ,” she says. “I drove the girls by just to wave at their dad, say hi to Miranda and their other sisters. We all get along really, really well.”
She adds: “Miranda and I have been talking more, we’ve been communicating more. The kids have little iPods. They’ll message. They call her Randa. They’ll message Miranda and they’ll message their dad at any given time. So really, we’ve all came such a long way.”
Messer is of course happy for her friend and Teen Mom 2 costar Kailyn Lowry, who is expecting her fourth son.
“I wish it was a girl, but of course Kail is the perfect boy mom,” Messer says of Lowry’s news that she’s having another baby boy. “She brought so much light into my life. I think both of us leaned on each other at times we needed someone the most, and I love her.”
Messer has no plans to expand her own family.
“I am still perfectly content with my girl tribe. I don’t know if I really want to start all over,” Messer says. “We’re on this path. We’re on this journey together and they’re great kids.”

It appears Gigi Hadid was speaking things into existence! On Tuesday, news broke that the 25-year-old supermodel is pregnant and expecting her first child with boyfriend, Zayn...Actress Supriya Pathak says Hansa is an evergreen character, whom she considers an "epitome of hope". Hansa is one of the popular characters of the show Khichdi. "Initially, I was worried about playing Hansa because Hansa is someone who talks a lot but does nothing. But after I started playing the character, it was such a relief. I feel Hansa is an evergreen character which has been a sheer pleasure to perform," said Supriya.
"For the first time in my life, I was not stressed out and was happy. It has been 16 years and to date, a part of Hansa always remains with me. Apart from Hansa's traits, I personally appreciate how precisely the show is written keeping in mind the relatability with the characters. Her innocence is completely charming and she is an epitome of hope that everything will be fine eventually," Supriya added.
Hansa has all the traits of a stereotyped Gujarati woman, but in a fun way. Her innocence and camaraderie with her husband Praful (played by Rajeev Mehta) who is always ready to give an answer to Hansa's questions, are some of the high points of the show.
Star Bharat has brought back the quirky Parekh family of the Khichdi show to the small screen amidst the ongoing coronavirus lockdown. The show first aired in 2002. It followed the story of a Gujarati family called Parekhs, who live in an old mansion. The joint family encounters many typically Indian situations, but they try to solve it in the most atypical fashion imaginable. This is a funny bunch of people that is firmly united in their movement to get separated. They want to sell their ancestral property and move out and form their own nuclear families. But the head of their family does not agree. He gives them the choice to walk out and survive on their own; but nobody is ready to let go of the money that is due to them. So they stay together and wait for the 'head' to change his mind or stop breathing, whichever happens first. And this is where the upwardly mobile middle class joint family faces its trials and tribulations. Khichdi is a look at the lighter side of an Indian joint family. Unlike other Hindi sitcoms, which continuously air throughout the year, Khichdi was one of the earliest shows on Indian television to adopt the Western model of appearing in seasons. The second season was called Instant Khichdi.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has posted a throwback picture of actress Urmila Matondkar from her child artiste days in Masoom, but it is Varma's bizarre play of words in the caption of the snapshot that is grabbing attention. Varma took to Twitter and shared a monochrome picture from the set of Shekhar Kapur's 1982 film, "Masoom". In the photograph, Kapur is seen with the film's lead pair of Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi, and child actors Jugal Hansraj and Urmila.

To come back to Tuesday's post, Varma wrote with the throwback "Masoom" pic: "Hey @shekharkapur This is a priceless team photo of ur evergreen great film 'MASOOM' ..Just can't believe that little girl in ur hands grew up to become a 'RANGEELA'."
The 1983 film Masoom starred Naseeruddin, Shabana, Tanuja, Supriya Pathak and Saeed Jaffrey. It was an adaptation of 1980 novel "Man, Woman and Child" by Erich Segal.

Following which, he put up a clarification on Twitter and wrote, "Sorry to disappoint, but now he tells me it's an April Fool joke. it's his fault and not mine. Anyway, I am just trying to make light of a grim situation but the joke is on me and if I didn't offend anyone I sincerely apologise to them."

I have watched the episode. Had found it weird to watch Sita and Lakshman together.)." Check out the pic below:
Talking about playing Lakshman earlier in an interview with Hindustan Times, Sunil Lahri had said, "If you go to see any other character, it didn't have that kind of performance. Maybe, Raavan but it's a negative character. I am slightly uncomfortable at the moment because my face doesn't permit me to play anything negative. I can play that character but I prefer not to. That's why I prefer playing the same character and now I feel I can perform 10 times better because, at that time, I think I didn't have experience. I didn't have an idea of what reaction and action one should do. Now, with experience in the industry for such a long time, I feel, I can perform much better."

Due to a lack of Bollywood events and parties, we are falling short of pictures to tom tom about. It seems like we will have to patiently wait for these events and gatherings to pick up once lockdown ends. Meanwhile, let's revisit some good ol' days. So, here's taking you back to the time Anushka Sharma had spent a bomb on a bag to complete her stylish airport look. It's a known fact that Anushka loves to flaunt her classy collection of luxury bags at the airport.
Hence, we weren't surprised when the actress carried an expensive Burberry tote bag with her. Before we reveal the price of her bag, let us tell you that Burberry is a high-end brand and most of its bags cost a bomb.
Let's talk about her Burberry tote bag in detail. The height of the bag is 31cm and its width is 37cm, whereas the depth is 13 m. Anushka Sharma's bag features double-leather top handles and a snap button closure. It also comes with a detachable pouch. Now, coming to the price tag, it costs a whopping Rs. 80,000. Anushka didn't seem to think twice before purchasing this bag. But we suggest you give it a thought before spending Rs. 80k simply on a bag.

Talking about the importance of fashion in her life, Anushka had recently told Vogue, "Clothes are important to me because, let's be honest, I have to be presentable, but I do it as much as it makes sense to me. I can't push myself beyond the realm of losing my sense of self."
Coming to her professional front, Anushka was last seen in Aanand L Rai's Zero with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Their film, unfortunately, failed at the box office. However, the actress is ready to make a roaring comeback with cricketer Jhulan Goswami's biopic.
Everyone who saw the much-delayed Bhavesh Joshi Superhero raved about Priyanshu Painyuli's performance in the film. Well, the industry has taken notice of his talent and the actor is going great guns in his career. BollywoodLife caught up with Priyanshu Painyuli who is thrilled about his online play, Lockdown Love and his film Extraction that stars Chris Hemsworth in the lead role. Priyanshu has been creatively occupied in this lockdown phase. "I am doing some interesting things at home. The virtual play, Lockdown Love was conceptualised by Roshan Abbas. Theatre is something everyone wants to keep alive. With this virus, it is uncertain when we will have proper shows and all. Ratna Pathak Ji is doing some poetry-sessions, others are doing stuff on Insta. Lockdown Love is a scripted play but we are performing live. We will do more online shows in the future." He further says, "When you are stuck in such unprecedented situations, you think differently. Sheena Khalid does some great stuff. We have done plays together. We rehearsed for a week before we went live. Technically, we are getting better with every passing show."
Now, we come to the big debut. He is seen as Bangladeshi drug lord Amir Asif in Sam Hargrave's Extraction. The character flamboyant personality has caught the fancy of the viewers. "I had buterflies in my stomach. This is the biggest international debut I could dream of. I crossed-checked the contract ten times, I mean to see if I was working with the same Russo Brothers (laughs out loud). I am a big fan of everyone on the set. Talking about Chris Hemsworth, I have seen every Avengers and Thor film. There was Golshifteh Farahani and David Harbour of Stranger Things! After the initial nervousness, the excitement kicked in. I told myself that I did do my best," says a beaming Priyanshu. Randeep Hooda and Pankaj Tripathi are also part of the cast.
Of course, we had to ask Priyanshu Painyuli about how it was to work with Chris 'Thor' Hemsworth. He says, "See, I am not sharing screen space with him. Amir Asif is the crime lord of Dhaka. He has thousands of people working under him. That makes the character very powerful and menacing. Chris and I met randomly in the makeup van. I did have a feeling that he was the Chris Hemsworth but I met this Aussie guy, who was relaxed, calm and composed. He has a sporty vibe about him. We spoke about food and music. You won't believe it, almost half of Ahmedabad's kids were waiting outside with hammers to get an autograph. Chris was very surprised to see this. He felt that people of only Mumbai or Delhi knew about it. I told him that he has fans everywhere, kids and women are crazy about him."
Finally, we get talking about Amir Asif, and what kind of prep went into the role. Priyanshu was very involved in designing his look for the character. "Everything about the character was new and exciting. Sam Hargrave was very particular about the language. The Bangladeshi language is Bangal. It took me three months of training to get into the groove. I had to learn every word. The costume made me the mafia. I wore an enormous amount of gold, which I will never don in real life. I asked Sam how did be like the look?"
Viewers have noticed the statement shoes worn by Priyanshu in the film. "You hardly get to see the shoes but they played a part. When you wear chappals, you feel free. Likewise, with heeled formal shoes, the body language changes. With the right shoes, I could get that extra bit of personality and attitude to the character. If you see he wears ankle high snakeskin leather shoes that make noise as you walk. He kind of makes his presence felt. Even when you just sit in those shoes, your body languages changes," he says.
