Cause if you falter and fumble even with an entourage and a village of people creating the halo for you, then it's time to redefine the edges and the meaning of the word 'star'. So, with a slew of functions and promotions, here we are, doing the dirty job - differentiating the 'NAY' from the 'YAY'!
So, from Priyanka Chopra to Sonam Kapoor and from Alia Bhatt to Katrina Kaif, these B-Town ladies have made it to the worst dressed corner this week and for reasons valid enough. Even Sara Ali Khan has come into the picture and for all the wrong reasons. Don't @us, have a dekko!
Priyanka Chopra
Now, we love an Alberta Ferretti moment, especially when it is Priyanka Chopra making it, but this is not what we envisioned. The global phenomenon who is always on the go, recently made it to Vogue Japan's 20th Anniversary Party in Milan but we wish she dressed like the diva she is instead of this flashy, striped pant-suit in black. While her embellished tie was a cool accessory, wish it were coupled with something cooler.
Sonam Kapoor
Sonam Kapoor pulled every trick in the style book to promote her latest release The Zoya Factor and she did with aplomb. The actress made bold statements in red and we were a fan until this Jebsispar By Jebin Johny hand block printed handloom saree. While that was that, we want to pick Rhea Kapoor's brains on pairing it with gold jewelry.
Alia Bhatt
Safe and boring! That's the perfect way to sum up Alia Bhatt's ensemble at the IIFA 2019. The Georges Chakra corset gown with a sheer cape at the shoulders that led to a bow at the back(?!) was way toned down for someone as effervescent as Alia. Not to mention, the hair and make-up didn't work together for the princess moment she was going for!
Katrina Kaif
How much shimmer is too much? This much! Katrina Kaif stepped out in a blingy outfit by Falguni Shane Peacock for the same award night and that is all there is to it. While we are all here for some sparkles, the ensemble did nothing for Kat's charm and persona. She even wore a statement neckpiece but it was a misfit! Maybe if she wore her hair differently than the same parting that she pulls always.
Sara Ali Khan
Another princess moment gone wrong is the subtext of Sara Ali Khan's OOTN that she wore to the IIFA again. The ivory gown by Gaurav Gupta didn't speak of the spunk that Sara is all about. The top bun made it an even big drab. Although, she did let her hair down when she went up to collect her best debut award but it was too little, too late!
