Movies this week: Spiderman: Far From Home, Malaal, One Day: Justice Delivered, Hume Tumse Pyaar Kitna

After a rocking week with Kabir Singh and Article 15 making and breaking records, the following week brings to us some rather unusual movies. Tom Holland's Spiderman: Far From Home, Meezan Jaffery-Sharmin Segal's Malaal, Anupam Kher-Esha Gupta's One Day: Justice Delivered and Karanvir Bohra-Priya Banerjee's Hume Tumse Pyar Kitna will be hitting the silver screens this week and we are nothing but curious to watch each of them.

And now we give you an overview of each one of the films so that you may be able to decide which ones to watch and which ones to skip.

Spiderman: Far From Home

Director: JonWatts

Cast: Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, Zendaya, Cobie Smulders, Jon Favreau, JB Smoove, Jacob Batalon, Martin Starr, with Marisa Tomei, Jake Gyllenhaal and Numan Acar

Synopsis: Jon Watts' directorial Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the 23rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will release on July 4, a day earlier in India due to unprecedented fan demand. The film's story proceeds with the events that followed with Avengers: Endgame to step up to take on new threats in a world that has changed forever. The film was initially supposed to release on July 5. Spider-Man: Far From Home will release in India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Malaal

Director: Mangesh Hadawale

Cast: Sharmin Segal and Meezaan Jaffery

Synopsis: The film is a love story between Shiva and Astha, who are two different people belonging to contrasting backgrounds but who experience the innocence of love. It is a struggle between their love for each other and who they really are. The film was initially supposed to release on June 28 but is now hitting the silver screens on July 5.

One Day: Justice Delivered

Director: Ashok Nanda

Cast: Anupam Kher, Esha Gupta, Kumud Mishra, Zarina Wahab, Zakir Hussain, Rajesh Sharma, Deepshikha and Murali Sharma

Synopsis: The crime-thriller revolves around the investigation of the crime branch s special officers who take up the difficult task of solving cases of the mysterious disappearances of high-profile individuals. Anupam Kher plays an honest judge while Esha Gupta plays a smart and alert police officer who gets to the real criminals in her own way. The film which was supposed to release last week will now hit the theatres on July 5.

Hume Tumse Pyaar Kitna

Cast: Karanvir Bohra, Priya Banerjee, Mahesh Balraj, Juhi Chawla, Sameer Kochhar

Director: Lalit Mohan

Synopsis: The film follows Dhruv s obsessive attraction towards Ananya which turns into limerence of his state of mind. In an interview with an entertainment portal, Karanvir had revealed that Hume Tumse Pyaar Kitna was extremely special for him. "The film is like a baby for us because it had been with us since the inception stage, not only from the story or even idea but from the germ that we need to make a film," he said. Just like Malaal, this film too was supposed to be released on June 28 but is now releasing on July 5.

Kylie Jenner Begs Kim Kardashian Not to 'Bully' Jordyn Woods About Tristan Thompson Scandal

Khloé Kardashian went through a range of emotions on the Keeping Up with the Kardashians season finale as she navigated the aftermath of the Tristan Thompson/Jordyn Woods cheating scandal.

Thompson, 28, first allegedly cheated on Khloé, 35, just days before she gave birth to their daughter in April 2018. Though they reconciled, their relationship never fully recovered — but it’s been over for good since news broke that he hooked up with Kardashian’s sister Kylie Jenner‘s BFF, 21-year-old Woods, in February.

During a getaway to Palm Springs with sisters Kim Kardashian West and Kourtney Kardashian and pal Malika Haqq filmed for Sunday night’s episode, Khloé exploded with anger.

“F— these hoes. Im done. Everyone told me how aggressive and crazy I am? I am. I’m going to go back to the old Khlo Money. … For True I don’t want to act like that, but also for True i want people to be f—ing afraid.”

A FaceTime call from Thompson’s friend Savas — who said the NBA player still insisted he couldn’t remember anything and denied kissing Woods — didn’t help matters.

“Liars!” she screamed into the phone. “You f—ing told me you kissed bitches, and you’re a f—ing liar!”

Meanwhile, Kylie was grappling with losing her best friend. After seeing a video of the Palm Springs crew shading Woods on the car ride there, she called Kim in tears.

“I just feel like we’re bigger than this, we’re better than this. I feel like call her or talk to her in person. … We just don’t need to bully anyone,” Kylie said, adding that Woods had come to her home to pick up some things after moving out abruptly.

“The look in her eye, she’s just obviously going through it,” Kylie said, her voice breaking. “I just don’t think anyone deserves this. We should express everything to each other in person, however we feel.”

Kim agreed and said she’d regretted putting the video on social media; although she deleted it five minutes later, the damage had been done. ” I definitely can get petty sometimes,” she said. “Kylie’s right. I got caught up in the moment.”

But the family lost any sympathy for Woods when they found out she’d be appearing on Facebook Watch’s Red Table Talk to tell family friend Jada Pinkett Smith — and the world — her side of the story. Momager Kris Jenner acknowledged the actress had given her a heads up via text, but Khloé was furious Woods would give an interview before hashing things out directly. Kylie hosted a family meeting, where Scott Disick suggested Woods may have not reached out to Khloé because she’s “drop-dead petrified” of the powerful stars.

“She should have been more scared to ever touch my man. She’s too f—ing comfortable,” she shot back.

She decided that even if Thompson loves her, he doesn’t respect her — and ignored his attempts to connect. “There’s no amount of phone calls or apology text messages that is ever going to repair Tristan and my relationship,” she declared.

The episode also covered the backlash Khloé faced for her tweets about the Red Table Talk interview; people accused her of blaming Woods for her heartbreak instead of Thompson. When Kim stopped by her bedroom to check in, she noted a giant display of red roses that he’d sent her.

“I just have no idea how all of this flipped like that,” Khloé said. “I reacted out of emotion … I was just reiterating you are part of the reason. you aren’t the sole reason, of course not. But regardless, she and tristan violated me … I’m now all of a sudden getting death threats, people threatening my child. … I didn’t choose to go and make this public. Even if they did just peck, which they didn’t, she decided to do an interview before talking to me.”

She realized she shouldn’t have tweeted and posted another message clarifying things. But the pain was still raw.

“Emotionally, you have to be really strong for this environment that we created. … It just sucks it has to be so public, because no one understands how I’m not just a TV show. This is my life, and it breaks my soul, and it’s happened so many times.

“Sometimes i think people forget Im not just an episode. It’s not just to get something trending. It’s my real life. No one would ever fake this. I get we’re entertainment, but we’re still human.”

Taylor Swift's Former Label Head Denies Singer's Claims Scooter Braun Was 'Bullying' Her

Taylor Swift‘s former record label, Big Machine Label Group, and its founder are speaking out after the singer slammed Scooter Braun for purchasing her music catalog for $300 million.

Hours after Swift said she was “grossed out” by Braun’s acquisition of Big Machine Label Group and her catalog, Scott Borchetta, who worked with Swift from 2006 until she left Big Machine for Universal Music Group late last year, responded with his own lengthy statement on the label’s website.

Along with sharing the conversations he previously had with Swift, 29, about the rights to her past music projects, Borchetta also denied her claims about Braun’s “bullying” of which the star wrote on Tumblr: “Any time Scott Borchetta has heard the words ‘Scooter Braun’ escape my lips, it was when I was either crying or trying not to. He knew what he was doing; they both did. Controlling a woman who didn’t want to be associated with them.”

Borchetta, whose rep declined to comment to PEOPLE, defended new business partner Braun.

“As to her comments about ‘being in tears or close to it’ anytime my new partner Scooter Braun’s name was brought up, I certainly never experienced that,” he said.

“Was I aware of some prior issues between Taylor and Justin Bieber? Yes. But there were also times where Taylor knew that I was close to Scooter and that Scooter was a very good source of information for upcoming album releases, tours, etc, and I’d reach out to him for information on our behalf,” Borchetta continued.

“Scooter was never anything but positive about Taylor. He called me directly about Manchester to see if Taylor would participate (she declined),” he said, referring to Braun’s client Ariana Grande‘s Manchester One Love concert that raised funds for the victims of the May 2017 terrorist attack outside her concert that killed 22 and injured over 100 people.

“He called me directly to see if Taylor wanted to participate in the Parkland March (she declined),” Borchetta said of the March for Our Lives in March 2018 that was organized and led by the students and survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.

“Scooter has always been and will continue to be a supporter and honest custodian for Taylor and her music,” he added.

Borchetta also responded to Swift’s rep who told PEOPLE in a statement that the Grammy-nominated artist “found out from the news articles when she woke up before seeing any text from Scott Borchetta and he did not call her in advance.”

“I personally texted Taylor at 9:06pm, Saturday, June 29th to inform her prior to the story breaking on the morning of Sunday, June 30th so she could hear it directly from me,” he said. “I guess it’s possible that she might not have seen my text. But, I truly doubt that she ‘woke up to the news when everyone else did.’ ”

A source close to the deal told PEOPLE Swift was given a courtesy note on Saturday by Borchetta. TMZ reported that Taylor’s father, Scott, is on the board of directors of Big Machine Label Group and “has known about the deal for at least a week.”

However, a spokesperson for Swift refuted TMZ’s claim, telling PEOPLE: “Scott Swift is not on the board of directors and has never been. On June 25, there was a shareholder phone call that Scott Swift did not participate in due to a very strict NDA that bound all shareholders and prohibited any discussion at all without risk of severe penalty. Her dad did not join that call because he did not want to be required to withhold any information from his own daughter.”

In her Tumblr post on Sunday, Swift, whose new album Lover hits shelves Aug. 23, wrote about learning that it was Braun who had ultimately purchased her masters from Borchetta, calling it her “worst nightmare.”

“Now Scooter has stripped me of my life’s work, that I wasn’t given an opportunity to buy. Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it,” she wrote. “This is my worst case scenario.”

Swift added of Borchetta, “This is what happens when you sign a deal at 15 to someone for whom the term ‘loyalty’ is clearly just a contractual concept. And when that man says ‘Music has value,’ he means its value is beholden to men who had no part in creating it.”

Among many of Swift’s friends to speak out in support of her was Cara Delevingne, who commented on Bieber’s Instagram response in which he accused Swift of “crossing a line” in her Tumblr post.

“This issue that @taylorswift is talking out is about far more than a picture and you know that,” Delevingne wrote to Bieber and his wife Hailey Baldwin, who called him a “gentleman” in the comments section.

“As you said, you haven’t spoken to her in years which means you definitely don’t understand the situation. I do. Take a step back and try and learn from this. We should all be on the same team. End of story,” Delevingne concluded.

A rep for Braun declined to comment to PEOPLE.

Justin Bieber Defends Scooter Braun After Taylor Swift Accuses Manager of 'Bullying' Her

Justin Bieber is speaking out in defense of his longtime manager, Scooter Braun, after Taylor Swift slammed him for “manipulative bullying.”

Upon learning that Braun had acquired Big Machine Label Group, the record label that now owns her music catalog, for $300 million on Sunday, Swift, 29, shared a Tumblr blog post expressing her disdain for Braun, 38, and claiming that he used Bieber, 25, and on-and-off client Kanye West to bully her on social media following her feud with the rapper over the lyrics of his song “Famous.”

“All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years,” Swift wrote. “Like when Kim Kardashian orchestrated an illegally recorded snippet of a phone call to be leaked and then Scooter got his two clients together to bully me online about it.”

Swift also shared a screenshot taken from Bieber’s Instagram account of an August 2016 post, in which the “Sorry” singer shared a Facetime call between himself and Braun — who can be seen with West, who Braun was not managing at the time of Bieber’s Instagram post. “Taylor swift what up,” Bieber captioned the post.

Shortly after Swift shared her post, Bieber shared a lengthy response on Instagram to both support Braun and apologize for his past actions.

“Hey Taylor,” Bieber began his message, which was posted alongside a throwback photo of him and Swift posing together. “First of all I would like to apologize for posting that hurtful instagram post, at the time I thought it was funny but looking back it was distasteful and insensitive.. I have to be honest though it was my caption and post that I screenshoted of scooter and Kanye that said ‘taylor swift what up’ he didnt have anything to do with it and it wasnt even a part of the conversation in all actuality he was the person who told me not to joke like that.”

Bieber then went on to claim that Braun has had Swift’s “back” since the days when she “graciously” let Bieber open up for her on tour a decade ago.

“As the years have passed we haven’t crossed paths and gotten to communicate our differences, hurts or frustrations,” Bieber wrote. “So for you to take it to social media and get people to hate on Scooter isn’t fair. What were you trying to accomplish by posting that blog? seems to me like it was to get sympathy u also knew that in posting that your fans would go and bully scooter.”

“Anyway, One thing i know is both scooter and i love you,” he continued. “I feel like the only way to resolve conflict is through communication. So banter back and fourth online I dont believe solves anything. I’m sure Scooter and I would love to talk to you and resolve any conflict, pain or or any feelings that need to be addressed. Neither scooter or I have anything negative to say about you we truly want the best for you.”

Bieber concluded his message by saying, “I usually don’t rebuttal things like this but when you try and deface someone i loves character thats crossing a line..”

His wife Hailey Baldwin commented on his post, writing, “gentleman.” And Braun’s wife Yael Cohen shared a post on her Instagram page with the caption: “@taylorswift, I’m here to talk privately anytime.”

At the beginning of her Tumblr post, Swift explained how she tried for years to own her own music from Big Machine but was told that she could only do so if she signed a new contract that gave her ownership of one of her old albums for every new one she completed.

“I walked away because I knew once I signed that contract, Scott Borchetta would sell the label, thereby selling me and my future,” she wrote. “I had to make the excruciating choice to leave behind my past. Music I wrote on my bedroom floor and videos I dreamed up and paid for from the money I earned playing in bars, then clubs, then arenas, then stadiums.”

Swift, whose new album Lover hits shelves Aug. 23, said learning that it was Braun who had ultimately purchased her masters from Borchetta was her “worst nightmare.”

A rep for Big Machine and a rep for Braun declined to comment.

Dave Bautista Slams Talk of Joining Fast and Furious Franchise: 'I'd Rather Do Good Films'

Dave Bautista wants no part of the Fast and Furious franchise.

The Guardians of the Galaxy actor launched some WWE-style trash talk at the action films in response to a fan who suggested he should join the ever-growing cast, declaring that he wanted to work on “good films.”

The exchange happened on Twitter Saturday, with a fan tweeting at Bautista, a former WWE star and mixed martial artist, that he should star as the villain in a Fast and Furious spinoff with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cena. Johnson first joined the franchise in 2011’s Fast Five, while Cena is coming on board for the upcoming ninth installment.

Bautista, 50, responded with a green with illness emoji, implying the idea made him sick.

“Thank you for your consideration,” he wrote, adding a vomiting emoji and the hashtag, “I’d rather do good films.”

Bautista also replied to a fan who pounced on his “I’d rather do good films” hashtag by reminding him of the critically panned 2018 film Escape Plan 2, which has a nine percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Bautista, who recently retired from the WWE, has appeared in a series of action films, most notably as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

He’ll next appear in the action comedy Stuber with Kumail Nanjiani.

Despite his implication that the Fast and Furious is stalling, the franchise has continued to release successful films since its debut in 2001.

The most recent, The Fate of the Furious, premiered in 2017, and pulled in $1.2 billion at the international box office, according to Box Office Mojo.

Fast & Furious 9 is scheduled for release in May 2020, while Hobbs & Shaw, a spinoff starring Johnson, Jason Statham and Idris Elba, hits theaters Aug. 2.

Beth Chapman's Family, Friends and Fans Gather for a Memorial on Waikiki to Honor Late Star

Days after her death, Beth Chapman‘s loved ones are celebrating the life she lived.

Gathering at her favorite place on earth, Beth’s husband Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman, their friends, family and fans came together at Fort DeRussy Beach in Waikiki, Hawaii, on Saturday to honor the late Dog the Bounty Hunter star.

“She said please Hawaiian style … please do this right,” the reality star told the crowd about his late wife’s wishes for her memorial, according to video obtained by TMZ. “She loved Hawaii and she loved people. The people mostly she loved.”

On Friday, a rep for the Chapman family told PEOPLE that her family members had organized a gathering to pay tribute to Beth, who died Wednesday at age 51 after a battle with cancer.

“Cecily and Lyssa Chapman invite the public to join the Chapman ʻOhana (family) for a gathering to honor Beth Chapmanʻs life,” a rep for the Chapman family said.

“Beth had two homes — Hawai’i and Colorado. ‘I love Hawai’i the most,’ she said, so she will be sent off in true Hawaiian style, with aloha,” the rep shared. She was set to be honored with a “Hawaiian ʻOli (chant), prayer, followed by a paddle out with family and friends.”

Attendees were also “asked to bring ocean-friendly loose flowers,” according to the rep, “and please no leis (the strings can be harmful to ocean life).”

“Those wishing to post photos and videos are asked to tag with #alohaoemrsdog. ‘Oe means ‘you’ in Hawaiian. It is customary to say, ‘Aloha ‘Oe’ especially when saying farewell,” the rep added. “There is a song by the same name, which Hawaiians often sing at the end of a party, funerals, or when people are leaving the islands.”

Additionally, Beth’s husband Duane “Dog” Chapman is “finalizing plans for a memorial service in Colorado, and details will be announced shortly.”

Dog, 66, announced Wednesday morning on Twitter that his wife had died.

“It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain,” he wrote. “Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”

A rep for the Chapmans told PEOPLE, “Beth died at 5:32 this morning, the same time she would wake up to go hiking Koko Head. The exact same time. She was surrounded by family and Dog was there, holding her hand.”

The Chapmans first opened up about Beth’s illness in September 2017 when they publicly announced her stage II throat cancer diagnosis.

News of her death comes after Dog revealed that Beth was admitted to Hawaii’s Queen’s Medical Center on June 22. According to Hawaii News Now, she was placed in a medically-induced coma. In a statement to the outlet, her husband said both he and his family “humbly ask everyone to please pray for Beth.”

“It’s quite serious,” the family rep told PEOPLE at the time.

She is survived by Dog and their children: Cecily Chapman, Bonnie Chapman, Garry Chapman and Dominic Davis.

Zoë Kravitz is keeping it casual-chic for her pre-wedding festivities!

On Friday, the Big Little Lies actress, 30, and her fiancé Karl Glusman were captured looking happier than ever as they walked hand-in-hand into their wedding rehearsal dinner at Restaurant Lapérouse in Paris.

For the occasion, Zoë put her own spin on a bridal look and opted for white bike shorts and a matching white bandeau. Over the comfortable set, the actress wore a beaded net dress and completed the look with a pair of white flats.

As for Glusman, 31, he rocked a navy suit with a white button-down shirt and black tie. The Nocturnal Animals actor also wore a pair of brown dress shoes for the celebratory evening.

The couple had the romantic eatery all to themselves as they kicked off their wedding weekend with many of their loved ones, including Zoë’s dad Lenny Kravitz, her mom Lisa Bonet, her husband Jason Momoa and Bonet and Momoa’s 11-year-old daughter Lola.

Other guests included Cara Delevingne, Chris Pine and his girlfriend Annabelle Wallis, Marisa Tomei, Denzel Washington and his wife Pauletta.

Zoë’s BLL costars Laura Dern, Reese Witherspoon and Shailene Woodley were also spotted walking into the venue, which overlooks the Seine River. Also in attendance was Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson.

Lapérouse, a historic two-story townhouse in the heart of Paris, is also a favorite of George and Amal Clooney, who stopped in at the restaurant during a romantic getaway in 2017.

The wedding will take place this weekend in France, where Glusman planned to propose. But things didn’t go as intended due to their hectic schedules, and he ended up popping the question in their living room.

“I was in sweatpants,” Zoë told Rolling Stone in October when she confirmed their engagement. “I think I was a little drunk. I could feel his heart beating so fast — I was like, ‘Baby, are you okay?’ I was actually worried about him!”

“I love that it wasn’t this elaborate plan in Paris,” she added. “It was at home, in sweatpants.”

The pair met in 2016 and made their relationship public in October of that year when they cozied up at a Kings of Leon concert in New York City.

But the actress didn’t particularly have her sights set on marriage when a friend introduced her to Glusman.

“I love that it wasn’t on an app and that it wasn’t on a movie set,” she told British Vogue in their July cover story. “My friend knew that I wanted to meet someone — not even to get serious, I think just to get laid, to be completely honest with you — and he brought Karl. I instantly felt something.”

Is Katherine Schwarzenegger changing her name?

The newlywed, 29, hinted at a new addition to her birth name on Instagram Stories on Friday when she shared a photo of a Smith + Mara necklace with the initials “KSP.”

“I love this so much @SmithandMara,” Schwarzenegger wrote in the caption.

While the book author’s social media handles remain “Katherine Schwarzenegger,” the necklace could be hinting at a future change.

Schwarzenegger tied the knot to Chris Pratt in an intimate ceremony earlier this month.

The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Hawaii where they were spotted at a luxury resort enjoying each other’s company.

“They looked totally in love,” a source told PEOPLE.

Before leaving for their trip, the pair spent time with their family, including Pratt’s 6-year-old son Jack on Father’s Day. He shares Jack with his ex-wife, actress Anna Faris.

Hawaii isn’t new to Pratt, 40, who worked at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company there after graduating from high school. Pratt told Entertainment Weekly in 2014 he used to sleep in his van while living in Hawaii.

“I had a friend who was like, ‘Dude, you’ve got to come out here.’ We set up camp on the beach and lived the dream,” he recalled to the publication.

Their vacation comes after Schwarzenegger shared back-to-back posts on Instagram celebrating her new husband.

The first came on Father’s Day, which also happened to be the one-year anniversary of the first time they were spotted together on a date.

Schwarzenegger later wished her new husband a happy birthday with a photo collage of the Avengers: Endgame actor enjoying various activities such as biking, golfing and even sitting in a hot tub with his wife.

She Wants to Fight Trump with 'Love': What to Know About Unlikely Presidential Candidate Marianne Williamson

One of the largest-ever Democratic primary fields took the national stage with back-to-back debates on Wednesday and Thursday — and the second night got some viewers curious about one of the more unorthodox candidates: Marianne Williamson.

The 66-year-old self-help author, who has published 13 books, was the most-searched candidate from Thursday night, according to Google.

She announced her long-shot presidential bid in January, and while she has consistently polled at the bottom of the pack she lit up the internet with interest after her debate performance.

In one characteristic comment from the stage in Miami on Thursday night, Williamson gave this answer when asked which country she would reach out to first as president:

“My first call is to the prime minister of New Zealand, who said that her goal is to make New Zealand the place where it’s the best place in the world for a child to grow up. And I would tell her, ‘Girlfriend, you are so wrong, because the United States of America is going to be the best place in the world for a child to grow up.’ ”

In January, Williamson said she was running “to engage voters in a more meaningful conversation about America, about our history, about how each of us fit into it and how to create a sustainable future.”

She’s a practicing Jew and ‘the bitch for God’

Williamson was raised Jewish in Houston and still practices today. Her teachings and writing draw from multiple religious practices, sometimes referencing Jesus and Buddha, and the book that inspired her spirituality, A Course in Miracles, is heavily influenced by Christianity.

She has also called herself “the bitch for God” according to PEOPLE’s ’92 profile.

She once wanted to be a cabaret singer

Williamson moved to New York in 1973 after dropping out of Pomona College in California to pursue a dream of singing professionally. In 1979, when she returned to her hometown of Houston, she often performed at a nightclub called Rockefellers.

She worked as an activist during the AIDS crisis

Late in the 1980s Williamson opened two Centers for Living, one in New York City and one in Los Angeles, to help people living with HIV and AIDS. DreamWorks founder and record executive David Geffen provided the initial investment.

She also started Project Angel Food in 1989, originally intended to provide meals for people living with HIV and AIDS in L.A. but later expanded to work with other illnesses.

Decades ago, she kickstarted her career on The Oprah Winfrey Show

The two have no political affiliation, but Oprah did give Williamson a big break in her self-help career way back in 1992 when the host promoted Williamson’s first book, A Return to Love

“I have never been as moved by a book as I have by Marianne Williamson’s book,” she said.

The book sold over a million more copies afterward. Williamson returned to The Oprah Winfrey Show multiple times since to promote future books, but her campaign has tried to downplay her links to the TV host.

She officiated Elizabeth Taylor’s final marriage

Taylor married construction worker Larry Fortensky in 1991, her seventh husband. She told PEOPLE in 1992 that Williamson’s “sense of spirituality triggered off my own.”

This isn’t her first political race

In 2014, in the 16-way primary race to be the next representative for California’s 33rd district, which includes west L.A., Williamson ran as an Independent and finished fourth with 13 percent of the vote. She failed to advance to the general election.

A few former representatives and governors endorsed her campaign, including Minnesota’s wrestler-turned-Gov. Jesse Ventura along with celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry.

Alanis Morissette wrote a song called “Today” for the campaign.

What she believes

Williamson’s signature 2020 policy proposal calls for $200 to $500 billion to be distributed by black American leaders for community development and education. To her, it fits into a broader campaign message of “healing.”

Her policy platform also generally aligns with the Democratic mainstream, including proposals to combat man-made climate change, reform gun laws and provide universal health care

However, she recently called the idea of mandatory vaccinations “draconian” at a June 18 campaign event in New Hampshire. “To me, it’s no different than the abortion debate,” she said. “The U.S. government doesn’t tell any citizen, in my book, what they have to do with their body or their child.”

Under criticism that she was supporting the anti-vaccine movement, she later clarified her position on Twitter.

As seen in Thursday’s debate performance, Williamson sometimes phrases major policy issues in emotional — even spiritual — terms. Speaking about the best way to defeat President Donald Trump, she said he had harnessed the fear of the American voter and only by channeling “love” could he be defeated.

Speaking about the decades-long conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, she once told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, “The work of the genuine peace builders must be on the level of the heart.”

Rising Soundcloud Artist Hella Sketchy Dies at 18: 'We Promise Your Legacy Will Live on Forever'

Rapper Hella Sketchy died this week after suffering a drug overdose and subsequently falling into a coma. He was 18.

Born Jacob Tyler Thureson, the musician died early in the morning of June 27, his dad, Erik Thureson, confirmed on Twitter Thursday. According to Erik, Jacob was found unresponsive on June 13th from an apparent drug overdose before being taken to the emergency room, where he was in a coma for 14 days.

“Never in a million years would I have imagined that it would end like this,” Erik said in a series of tweets. He then urged his son’s fans to recognize the impact of the opioid crisis across the United States.

“The opioid epidemic does not discriminate,” he said. “The conversation regarding drugs, depression, mental illness, social media, needs to be happening more openly without judgment and stigma.”

“Jacob’s life was not and will not be in vain,” Erik continued, noting how many people his son touched in his short life.

“Jacob touched many lives. He had so many praying. There was unity from people of all backgrounds with 1 hope for Jacob to pull through. We don’t understand why but we do know that no matter what God is still good & we praise him.”

Melissa McCarthy Is in Talks to Star as Ursula in Live-Action Remake of The Little Mermaid

Melissa McCarthy might be going under the sea.

The 48-year-old actress is in talks to star as Ursula in Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. Variety first reported the news.

A rep for McCarthy did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Rob Marshall, who directed Mary Poppins Returns, is taking on directing duties. Songs from the original 1989 animated film will be included in the live-action film, as well as new songs from Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Miranda, who rose to fame with his Broadway hit In the Heights and Hamilton, is also a co-producer on the film.

The story centers on the mermaid Ariel who yearns to live among humans and finds her wish granted when she trades her voice for legs from the sea witch, Ursula.

The original animated film featured the voice of Jodi Benson as Ariel. The film earned $84 million at the U.S. box office and $233 million worldwide.

Disney has released a string of live-action films based on their animated classics, such as the recent Aladdin, Dumbo, The Jungle Book and Cinderella.

The studio will release The Lion King next month which stars Donald Glover as Simba and Beyoncé as Nala.

James Earl Jones reprises his role as Mufasa. Seth Rogen, Keegan-Michael Key, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard and Billy Eichner also star.

The Lion King is in theaters July 19.

Cardi B's Signature 'Okurrr' Phrase Denied Trademark Registration by Government Officials

Cardi B won’t be making major “money moves” on her famous catchphrase after all.

Three months after applying to trademark “Okurrr” for merchandising purposes, the rapper, 26, was denied her request due to the fact that it was more common than she perhaps thought, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.

In the official papers, U.S. Patent and Trademark officials said that Cardi’s phrase was considered a “widely-used commonplace expression,” after learning that the Kardashian family and many of her fans had used “Okurrr” over the years.

Back in 2017, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner all used the phrase on several episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians Cardi’s fans also reportedly filed similar trademark applications before the rapper did, according to The Blast.

Additionally, USPT officials explained in the documents that Cardi’s famous saying “does not function as a trademark or service mark to indicate the source of applicant’s goods and/or services” and that it does not stand apart from other similar marks.

Cardi initially filed the application to trademark two versions of “Okurrr” — spelled with both 3 R’s and 2 R’s — on March 11.

The “I Like It” rapper had plans to plaster the phrase on paper goods, such as cups and posters. “Okurrr” was also expected to be featured on a clothing line that features pants, shirts, and hoodies, according to The Blast.

Last April, Cardi opened up about her use of the phrase on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

“It’s like a cold pigeon in New York City,” Cardi told Jimmy Fallon, making the sound. When asked to describe what the phrase is used for Cardi said, “It depends on the situation that you’re in. Like if somebody checks somebody it’s like ‘Okurrr.'”

Cardi also used the saying when she made a cameo during the Super Bowl LIII Pepsi commercial.

The 30-second commercial, which was, of course, titled “Okurrr” shows the “Bodak Yellow” rapper playfully reassuring diner customers that Pepsi is, in fact, okay to drink … though it takes them a bit to understand what sound she’s making.

Though Cardi and the Kardashians were both heavily associated with the phrase, neither originated it. It actually derives from RuPaul’s Drag Race season six contestant Laganja Estranja, who used it first on the show.

Estranja, 30, called out Kim Kardashian West for using the phrase after a fan suggested she make an “Okurrr” Kimoji. “YES GREAT IDEA! ADDING NOW!” Kardashian West, 38, wrote.

“POOR ME! Another one of my word candies has been stolen!!” Estranja wrote back on Twitter.

News of Cardi’s trademark denial comes amid the star’s legal battle over an alleged assault.

On Tuesday, Cardi made an appearance in Queens County Criminal Court after being indicted by a grand jury over a strip club brawl she was involved in last August.

The rapper is alleged to have ordered an assault on two bartenders, identified as Jade and Baddie G, at Angel’s Strip Club over her belief that Jade slept with Cardi’s husband, Offset (whom she shares daughter, Kulture, 11 months, with) — and the indictment was officially unsealed on Tuesday.

A police spokesperson previously told CNN that Cardi was allegedly “throwing chairs, bottles and hookahs in the club at 3 a.m.,” leaving both bartenders with injuries. NBC New York reported Cardi was caught on camera tossing an ice bucket at the women.

Cardi was initially only charged with two misdemeanor counts of assault and reckless endangerment, but — after rejecting a plea deal in April — now faces 12 charges, including two counts of felony attempted assault with intent to cause serious physical injury, as well as criminal solicitation, conspiracy and harassment for her part in the brawl, according to the indictment.

Ahead of Tuesday’s hearing, Cardi’s attorney, Jeff Kern, did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment, though he previously told reporters he was “aware of no evidence that she caused anybody any harm on that night. We expect that the matter is going to be resolved expeditiously.”

According to the Associated Press, the rapper pleaded “not guilty” to the 12 charges and the next court date is set for September 9, but she is not required to appear.

Luke Perry's Daughter Sophie Opens Up About How She's Been After His Death: 'Doing the Best I Can'

Luke Perry‘s daughter Sophie is opening up about life after his death earlier this year.

Sophie, 19, is currently doing volunteer work in Malawi and hosted a Q&A session with her nearly 98,000 Instagram followers on Friday.

Several fans asked her questions about her dad, inquiring after how she has ben coping since he died suddenly after a suffering a stroke in March.

One fan said that her positive attitude has helped them through the loss of their own father.

“I lost my dad 7 months ago. I’m much older than you BUT I really look up to you,” the follower said. Sophie responded, “I’m so sorry for your loss. That means a lot to me. I’m dealing with it all the best I can, but I know it’s the hardest thing. I wish you all the strength in the world.”

Another fan asked if the cast of Riverdale, in which Luke starred as Archie Andrews’ (KJ Apa) dad Fred Andrews, has been supportive.

“Everybody, cast and crew, has been so supportive and amazing. I love those guys,” she answered. “I’m closer to some than others, but if I needed anything, I could go to any of them.”

Another follower simply asked how she was doing, saying that Sophie comes across as “so brave and strong.”

“I’m okay. Thanks for asking. How are you?” Sophie started her response. “I wouldn’t call myself particularly brave or strong, I’m just doing the best I can. I have all the support in the world and the best family in my corner which makes it a lot easier to be ‘brave.'”

Sophie added that all the press about her dad is something new to deal with, saying it’s difficult to see his picture everywhere.

“I think people forget or don’t realize that in my lifetime he wasn’t famous the way he was during the 90210 era. By the time I was old enough to understand all that, he wasn’t as in the spotlight as he is now,” she explained. “And I wasn’t at all public or looked at. So I’m seeing all that stuff for the first time. The shock of all that is new.”

Despite the ups and downs she is experiencing, Sophie was still able to make some jokes.

To a fan who asked if she watched Riverdale, she replied, “No… what is that???”

She then clarified she was kidding, but admitted that it’s “a little bit hard” for her to watch the popular CW drama right now.

Sophie honored her dad on Father’s Day earlier this month with a post to Instagram.

“I know this is comin at u a day late but Malawian internet really didn’t want to help me out so… it is Father’s Day, and dad I miss and love you dearly,” Sophie said in her post, which included a photo of herself with Luke and brother Jack. She continued her post with a shout-out for Jack’s 22nd birthday, which was one day after Father’s Day.

“To the brother that blows all others out of the water,” she added. “To the mentor who taught me to be brave. To the boy who I wrestled with on the trampoline. To the man who is everything I ever wanted to be. Happy birthday, you beautiful beaver boy. I wish I could be with you, now more than ever. But I’ll be there soon enough, to watch you kick major ass and have all your dreams, all the dreams I had for you, come true. Watch out though, I’ve been practicing my Canadian Destroyer…”

Jack has also opened up about how the family dealt with the loss of Luke.

“I think everybody’s just doing the best they can and kind of taking it day by day,” Jack told PEOPLE in May. “It was kind of wild because there was this private thing obviously for me and family, but, at the same time, the whole world was kind of involved.”

Jack added, “I’m proud to know that my dad touched so many people in a really positive way and made them feel better.”

Kelly Ripa Marvels at How Much Her Kids Have Grown in 8-Year Throwback Post with Mark Consuelos

Kelly Ripa‘s family vacation continues!

The Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host shared a pair of photos for Throwback Thursday on Instagram, showing her kids and husband Mark Consuelos in the same spot, eight years apart.

Ripa, 48, wrote in the post’s caption, “#tbt 2011 vs. 2019 Les murs sont devenus plus petits.” The French phrase translates to “the walls have become smaller.”

And smaller they look, indeed!

In the first photo, taken in 2011, Mark, 48, and children Michael, now 22, Lola, now 18, and Joaquin, now 16, pose atop a bluff with a gorgeous view of the ocean and old buildings in the background.

In the new photo, the kids and their dad pose in almost the exact same spot, though the ocean isn’t in view — and all three kids are much taller.

Holly Robinson Peete commented on the post, writing, “Girl those murs are now curbs,” referencing how much the kids have grown in regard to the surroundings. Ripa replied, “@hollyrpeete truth.”

David Muir also joined the conversation, commenting, “Progress. ” and Mark commented on his wife’s post with two black hearts.

The Riverdale star and dad of three posted his own photo from the vacation, showing off the family posing together at sunset.

“Entourage…(said w/French accent),” he wrote in the caption.

These aren’t the first photos Ripa and Mark have shared from the family trip.

On Tuesday, Ripa shared a stunning photo of herself in a white bikini and beach coverup, snapped by Lola.

“Sous le soleil avec #papa(Not pictured)” Ripa said in the photo’s caption, again writing in French. The phrase translates to “under the sun with #papa.”

Mark commented on that photo as well, “.” He also shared a photo of himself and Ripa smiling before a meal with their oldest son Michael to an Instagram Story.

Ripa’s bikini photo caught the attention of several other stars, who were quick to comment with kind words for the TV host.

“I would do anything for legs like this!!!!! Anything. ,” Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna wrote in the comments.

“Damn sis,” added Peete, and Marisol Nichols, Mark’s on-screen wife in Riverdale wrote, “Stunning!!!”
