The TV world was buzzing with news in the last week. We had a lot of developments ranging from the good, bad and ugly. On the happier side, there was the news of Patiala Babes' actress Ashnoor Kaur scoring 93 per cent in her CBSE Class 10 boards and of Charu Asopa - Rajeev Sen's engagement. All of us felt damn proud when The Kings won the NBC World Of Dance.
Ashnoor Kaur
The teen actress who plays the role of Mini on the show, Patiala Babes scored 93% in her CBSE Class 10 Board Exams. She was expecting around 90 per cent but superseded her expectations. Congratulations came pouring in from the industry and Ashnoor's achievement was trending on Google news. She is a student of Ryan School, Kandivali and studied mostly in her makeup room. Ashnoor shoots almost daily and got enough support from her school. She wants to pursue the Commerce stream. She told Bombay Times, "I have always been passionate about both. I know if I join acting as a full-fledged career in the future, then that will take place only after my studies. It was hectic to manage and remember dialogues along with my studies. I would always study in my makeup room and also wake up at 5:30 am and study before leaving for sets. My teachers had also told me that I could take extra classes from them and clear doubts if any. I had the support of my school, parents and the production team of my show for my studies."
The Kings
Mumbai-based dance crew, The Kings made the whole of India proud when they won the NBC World Of Dance. The panel of Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo were bowled over by their performance. They came third a few years back but this time the trophy was theirs. Celebrities like Varun Dhawan, Remo D'Souza and Amitabh Bachchan took to social media to congratulate them. They are winners of India's Got Talent as well. The team of 14 are in the age group of 17-27 years. Remo D'Souza exclusively told BollywoodLife that their victory gave him the script for his fourth film.
Karan Oberoi
The good-looking actor and former member of the now dismantled Band Of Boys was arrested by the Oshiwara Police on charges of rape and extortion. The complainant was a 34-year-old astrologer. The actor has been sent to judicial custody for 10 days and his bail application will be put forth today. Friends of the actor came out in full support saying he was a thorough gentleman and the woman had been harassing him since a while now. Pooja Bedi spoke out on how laws were lop-sided against men and it was time that people took action against women who wrongly defame men.
Charu Asopa
The TV actress got engaged to Sushmita Sen's handsome entrepreneur brother, Rajeev Sen. Charu and he had been dating since a few months. The wedding is happening on June 16. It was Sushmita Sen who shared the news saying that Charu finally said Yes to her bro's proposal. She said she would dance from both sides. Congratulations have come pouring in for the actress from the fraternity.
Karan Wahi
Buzz is that Karan Wahi has been finalised to play Mr Bajaj in Kasautii Zindagi Kay 2. It seems a number of actors were in the running but Wahi is the chosen one. He has not yet confirmed it though. Kasautii Zindagi Kay 2 has seen a rise in ratings in the recent past and is one of the top shows.
