Diet Sabya is at it again! The Instagram account which calls out fashion designers and celebrities for their fashion inspirations and choices attacked Alia Bhatt earlier today. The social media account, which is run by an anonymous person, called out Alia s recent look for a cover shoot. The actress recently posed for Filmfare and one of her outfits looked similar to international singer Dua Lipa s recent shoot. Both the stars were seen wearing a pair of pants and denim shirts. The images are black and white. The pictures are so eerily similar that anyone would think that it looks like a copy.
Given the similarity, the Instagram account called out Alia and wrote, Magazine's and their overt references. We mean chill the f*** out bro". Alia retaliated almost immediately and cleared her stand. She shared Diet Sabya s Instagram Story and gave her a fitting reply. The actress revealed that the Filmfare photo shoot was done earlier last month i.e., in February whereas Dua s photograph wasn t released until later that month.
She said, I shot for this cover on the 6th of February 2019. If I am not mistaken the apparent "reference" was only uploaded on 24th of Feb. Not to go all true detective on you guys.. but give a girl some credit. Toodles."
This isn t the first time that the Instagram account has been called out by Bollywood. A few weeks ago, Sonam Kapoor and Anamika Khanna were accused of copying. Sonam called out the account and soon enough, the post accusing the duo was removed.
The account recently called out Sanya Malhotra s outfit as well for copying an international design. However, Sanya tackled it well. Instead of lashing out, she thanked the account for calling her a good person.
It is ironic that the account, which is sort of a fashion police who calls out copy-cats, is a desi version of international account Diet Prada. Speaking to Hindustan Times, the owner of the account said, Copying isn t cool and we will make sure the online universe knows that... About time serial offenders, influential or upcoming be called out for their mediocrity.
