Taylor Kinney, Lady Gaga‘s ex-fiancé, has apologized for liking a shady comment directed at the pop star.
The 37-year-old Chicago Fire actor shared a photo of himself and former hockey player Bryan Bickell on Instagram Sunday.
“Stoked to be out with my guy @bbickell and his wife @abickell for the weekend. 29. Good times in Chicago @bickellfoundation cheers @chicagocutsteakhouse,” he wrote in the caption.
On Wednesday, Kinney commented on the photo apologizing for liking a comment left on the post shortly after he originally posted it which read, “Stoked you got away from Gaga. #Hollyweird.”

The actor shared the like was a mistake, writing, “Sorry for the “like.” It was an accident. I’m only proud and happy for Stef.”
Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, was previously engaged to Chicago Fire star Kinney and the pair was together for five years. But shortly after she landed her role in A Star Is Born in 2016, the couple split. The actor had proposed on Valentine’s Day 2015.

The singer’s fans retaliated against Kinney in the comments section of his Instagram.
One commenter wrote, “Imagine being bitter and liking shady comments after someone’s success,” while another wrote, “I had so much love and respect for you until you liked this s—. Way to trash someone you were once going to marry.”
After their breakup in July 2016, Gaga, 32, released a statement that said, “Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break.”
In her documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two, the singer broke down in tears as she alluded to the fact that her growing career might have contributed to the breakup.

“I did a movie and lose Taylor,” she added. “This is the third time I’ve had my heart broken like this.”
In October, Kinney praised his ex for her rousing success with A Star Is Born— which saw much box office success in the fall and eventually led to an Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe, among other awards, for Gaga.
“I’ll tell you that I’m really proud. I don’t know. It’s watching someone live their dream, so, continued success and I hope it keeps climbing,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “The sky is the limit.”
