Kangana Ranaut takes charge this weekend with Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi. The actress transformed into Rani Lakshmi Bai for the biopic on the renowned freedom fighter. Although it has just been a day since Manikarnika released, infamous pirated website Tamil Rockers have got their hands on the print of the movie and leaked it online. This isn t the first time that a Hindi movie has leaked online by the pirated site. The biggest hit of 2019, Uri: The Surgical Strike, too was leaked online despite the court ordering against it.
The makers of Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautham starrer attempted to curb it in a creative way. They uploaded a fake file with the name of the movie wherein the stars are seen interacting with the illegal downloader. In the video, Yami Gautam is heard saying, "Jab hamari army unki territory me ghuskar aatankvaadio ko maar sakti hai, to kya hum aapke torrent me nahi ghus sakte?" Vicky added, "Picture dekhiye garv se. Theatre me jaakar. Then Yami says, Chori chhipe, illegal download karke nahi."
This couldn t save the movie from finding its way to reach online. The Accidental Prime Minister too was leaked online soon after its release. However, the piracy hasn t stopped people from making their way to the theatres.
Manikarnika has already registered Rs 8.75 crores on the first day. Manikarnika has earned some good reviews. The movie has been directed by Krish and Kangana Ranaut. The movie also stars Ankita Lokhande, Danny Dengzongpa, Atul Kulkarni, Suresh Oberoi in pivotal roles.
