The Wikipedia article of the day for January 31, 2019 is Ambrose Rookwood.
Ambrose Rookwood (c. 1578 – 31 January 1606) was a member of the failed 1605 Gunpowder Plot, a conspiracy to replace the Protestant English King James I with a Catholic monarch. Born into a wealthy family of Catholic recusants, and educated by Jesuits at Flanders, Rookwood became a horse-breeder. He was enlisted into the plot in September 1605 by Robert Catesby, a religious zealot whose impatience with James's treatment of English Catholics had grown so severe that he conspired to blow up the House of Lords with gunpowder, looking to kill the king and much of the Protestant hierarchy. Rookwood's stable of fine horses was seen as essential for the uprising to succeed. The plan failed when the man left in charge of the gunpowder stored beneath the House of Lords, Guy Fawkes, was discovered there and arrested. Hansika Motwani, who is a well-known name down South, recently was in the news after her private pictures from her phone and Twitter account were leaked online. With her team's support, the actress managed to pull off the images from the internet. She even requested people to stop responding to any messages as her phone was hacked. Days after the incident, Hansika has now opened up about the matter. In an interview Times Of India, the actress gave a befitting reply to those who accused her of doing this for publicity. "I don t need to seek attention from anybody. Right through my career, I ve kept a low profile and that reflects in how I conduct myself on social media as well. That s just who I am as a person. So if someone sitting in the corner of their room wants to say that I m doing this for attention, I don t think that such people even deserve a response. I just feel sorry for them," she said.

South star Jiiva to play explosive batsman Kris Srikkanth in Ranveer Singh's '83 - find out

The live-wire of Bollywood Ranveer Singh blows our mind each time with his versatility over the past few years. After playing the menacing emperor Alauddin Khilji, kickass cop Sangram Bhalerao and rapper Gully Boy, the actor is set essay the character of legendary all-rounder and former Indian cricket team skipper Kapil Dev. The actor has already started training for the film, and he shared a picture from his training session on social media.

Apart from him the makers have taken Punjabi actor Ammy Virk on board, who will portray the character of fast bowler Balvinder Singh Sandhu. And now the producers have revealed another star, who will play the explosive batsman Kris Srikkanth aka Krishnamachari Srikkanth in this biographical sports drama. The actor is popular Tamil star Jiiva, who has garnered immense fan following with his performances in Ko and Gorilla.

Jiiva confirmed the news and told Midday, "I began training for the part last month. (Former Indian cricketer) Balwinder Singh Sandhu had visited me here in Chennai to notice my batting form and see how well-versed I was about cricket. Since then, we have been in touch regularly. Since I must pick up the nuances of batting correctly, I have been exchanging videos of my progress with [his team] regularly."

Talking about the physical training, Jiiva said, "For this film, I am doing [outdoor] exercises instead of training in the gym, which is also aiding my prep for '83. I have a personal trainer who is helping me build my stamina. The workout routine is intense and there is a fair amount of cardiovascular training involved," says the actor, adding that he must shed 7 kilos to look "lean and young" for the part. "[I'm focusing on] getting [Srikkanth's] nuances and body language on point. I have started watching his videos online, and those of the '83 matches as well."

Good News! Hera Pheri 3 starring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal will go on floors by the year-end

After getting delayed several times, Hera Pheri 3 is finally back on the track and we are excited. The latest update about the third installment of Hera Pheri is that the film will go on floors by the year-end. The original cast of the comic caper- Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal will be reprising their roles to tickle our funny bones. While the film will be directed by Indra Kumar, it will be bankrolled by Firoz Nadiadwala. A source close to the development informed Mumbai Mirror that various issues in the script let the film to be delayed. However, everything is on track.

The source further added, "At present, the film is in the scripting stage. Though everyone is excited, no one wants to compromise on the script for a substandard product to capitalise on the franchise s power."

Earlier, it was being reported that the third instalment was on the verge of getting shelved due to a fallout between Akshay and Firoz, the producer. But, now everything seems to be fine. Yami Gautam

Yami Gautam made a sparkling debut with Vicky Donor (2012) but moved to the South post that. In 2015, she had a small role in Badlapur, which was a much-appreciated film. The following year was also a very forgettable one for the actress. However, in 2017 she bounced back with Kaabil, which was her first Rs 100-crore film. Now, at the start of 2019 she has bagged her second Rs 100-crore film with URI: The Surgical Strike. The film is turning out to be one of the most loved flicks in recent times and is a modern war masterpiece.

Vaani Kapoor

The actress had impressed everyone with her debut film, Shuddh Desi Romance (2013). However, in a span of seven years, she has done only four Hindi films. This year seems to be an exciting one for the actress who has a film with Hrithik Roshan - Tiger Shroff which is releasing on October 2, 2019. The leggy actress has also bagged her first film with Ranbir Kapoor titled Shamshera that will hit the marquee next year. Vaani's career has not taken off in the way she was expected to, but the coming months might change the tide for this stunner.

Taapsee Pannu

Undoubtedly, one of the most talented and intelligent of actresses around, Taapsee has earned immense respect for her work in films like Pink (2016) and Manmarziyaan (2018). She has films like Badla and Womaniya coming up. Both the films look damn interesting. Sujoy Ghosh is the maker of Badla while Womaniya sees her reuniting with Anurag Kashyap.

Salman Khan is all set to treat his fans with two festive songs in Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat

Ali Abbas Zafar is presently shooting for the last leg of his directorial Bharat that features Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif in leading roles. Salman's co-stars Sunil Grover and Aasif Sheikh are also filming for the last schedule which is being shot in Filmcity. Recently, the makers unveiled the teaser of Bharat which got a positive response from the audience. And now it seems, the music of Salman Khan starrer will also strike the right chord with everyone. As Bharat features six songs to reflect the festive season. As per a Mumbai Mirror report, three songs will be centred around Holi, Diwali and a wedding, whereas the rest three will have romance and tragedy as their backdrop.

"For the ongoing 40-day schedule, the team has recreatedDelhi of the 1950s and 60s. Last year in July, when the crew was in Malta, Ali Abbas Zafar had shot a romantic song featuring Salman and Katrina. It was recently in an interview where Sara stated that she is open to doing a project with her dad but only if the script justified their characters.

January has turned out to be a good month for Bollywood as films like Uri: The Surgical Strike, The Accidental Prime Minister, Thackeray and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi performed very well at the box office. Coming to the month of February, director Shelly Chopra Dhar's ensemble film Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, which stars Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla in key roles, is scheduled to hit the screens. The romantic drama, which has the twist of the same-sex relationship, has created a decent buzz among the masses already.

Despite the above factor, we think the film will open between the range of Rs 3 to 4 crore and the primary reason for that is that the subject of the film has a limited appeal, which will cater mainly to multiplex audiences. The film will have to show extraordinary growth over the weekend to stand with a healthy total at the ticket windows. Since the holdover releases like Manikarnika, Thackeray and Uri are doing superb business, they might affect Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga's business at the box office.

Lakme Fashion Week 2019: The ramp opens up with Karan Johar and Tabu's showstopper act at Gaurav Gupta's show

And it has begun! The one-stop destination for fashion lovers, the Lakme Fashion Week 2019 kickstarted in Mumbai last night and boy was it an opening! While the curtains always guarantee glitz and glamour when they fall, the LFW 2019 promised a gala when we saw B-town filmmaker turn fashionista Karan Johar and the ever so beautiful Tabu strut in style. The duo turned showstoppers for avant-garde fashion designer Gaurav Gupta and it was a treat for sore eyes.

While the actress looked regal in a cold-shoulder ash-coloured embellished gown, KJo stole the thunder in his red and black show coat. Mind you, there were motifs that shined just like him! Interestingly, the ramp walk was coupled not just with instrumental music but live recitation.
