Kollywood star Vijay Sethupathi has enjoyed a wonderful 2018 thanks to his blockbuster films like 96 and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. Known for his versatility, the actor has once again surprised us with the trailer of his upcoming new venture Seethakaathi, where he plays the character of an aged actor, who doesn't want to come back to the industry but all the producers and directors want him desperately. Talking about the promo, the video starts on a quirky note, where we see all filmmakers coming together and complaining against Ayya (Vijay Sethupathi) as he is not attending any of the shoots of the films he has signed. Post that, we see some people from the industry sharing their thoughts about Ayya and how he rejected their offers.

The trailer also shows the crazy fenzy for Ayya, where we see his fans bathing his huge cut-outs with milk and putting his posters on the glasses of rickshaws. But in the very next scene, we see a twist where Ayya is sitting alone in a small dark room, showcasing how he is not interested in appearing on the silver screen any more. But what is the reason behind that? Well, we will find that out only after watching the film. Despite being a 3-minute 9-second long promo, it holds our attention thanks to Vijay's magnetic and sharp editing. Seethakaathi is directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan and also stars Archana, Rajkumar and Karuna in pivotal roles. It is produced by Sudhan Sundaram, Umesh, Jayaram and Arun Vaidiyanathan under the banner of Passion Studios.
