Wikipedia article of the day for October 30, 2019

The Wikipedia article of the day for October 30, 2019 is Sorga Ka Toedjoe.
Sorga Ka Toedjoe is a film from the Dutch East Indies (present-day Indonesia) which had its premiere in Surabaya on 30 October 1940, one of fourteen domestic productions released that year. The black-and-white film featured traditional kroncong music and was targeted at native audiences. It was directed by Joshua and Othniel Wong for Tan's Film, a company owned by the ethnic Chinese brothers Khoen Yauw and Khoen Hian. The Wongs had worked for Tan's since 1938, when they directed the hit film Fatima featuring Rd Mochtar. Sorga Ka Toedjoe was the first production by Tan's Film after Mochtar left the company. Starring Roekiah and Djoemala as a younger couple and Kartolo and Annie Landouw as an older couple, it was a commercial and critical success. Roekiah and Djoemala took leading roles in three more films before Tan's closed in 1942, following the Japanese occupation of the country. Sorga Ka Toedjoe is now believed to be lost.

Wheel of Fortune Will Give Away a Home to a Lucky Winner This Week

Forget hitting the $10,000 mark on the wheel — this week on Wheel of Fortune, one lucky viewer will win an entire house, thanks to the return of its annual “Home Sweet Home” sweepstakes.

The $350K prize is part of the Latitude Margaritaville in Florida in a 55-and-up community for adults.

Last year, the lucky winner Michael Corbett relocated from Dayton, OH to his new home at Latitude, and the show’s hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White recently visited him there where they were surprised by singer Jimmy Buffett.

“We had such a great response to our first Home Sweet Home giveaway that we couldn’t wait to do it again!” said Wheel of Fortune executive producer Harry Friedman. “Both Minto and Margaritaville are fantastic partners to the show, and together they have created a wonderful community in Latitude Margaritaville.”

To enter the sweepstakes, viewers should tune in to the show each night between October 28 through November 1, take note of the bonus round puzzle solution and input it at www.wheeloffortune.com for an entry.

Members of the Wheel Watchers Club, Wheel of Fortune’s loyalty program, will be awarded an additional entry in the drawing. Winners will be chosen at random.

Taylor Swift Trolls Blake Shelton on Set of The Voice: ‘Oh, It’s Not Blake Lively!’

Just like her close friend Blake Lively, Taylor Swift has a few good quips up her sleeve.

On Monday, the “You Need to Calm Down” singer shared a hilarious video to her Instagram from her time on The Voice recently as a mega mentor.

In the clip, the superstar is heard calling The Voice‘s veteran coach by the actress’s name as the country singer is distracted by the kitten filter.

I was promised Lively But Shelton is cool too. SO excited to be on @NBCTheVoice with @blakeshelton tonight at 8/7c! pic.twitter.com/haSdVflANG

“Here we are at The Voice,” said Swift, 29, as the pair sat in the coaches’ chairs.

“Here we are at the — oh my gosh, they’ve even got the eyes,” Shelton, 43, said as he noticed the filter included some mascara.

“Yeah, you have mascara on as a cat!” said Swift. “That’s one of the perks of being a cat.”

Shelton announced the “mega” singer would be joining the cast this season in an Instagram video in September, captioning the post, “And our @NBCTheVoice mega mentor is….. @TaylorSwift!!! #TheVoice @johnlegend.”

Unfortunately for the country star, Swift’s announcement of him didn’t go quite as smoothly. “I’m here with Blake Lively and it’s a wonder … oh, it’s not Blake Lively,” joked the star, who has been friends with Lively for years.

The pop star captioned the clip: “I was promised Lively but Shelton is cool too. So excited to be on @nbcthevoice with @blakeshelton tonight at 8/7c!”

Always in on the fun, Shelton quickly shared the post on his Instagram Stories as well.

As a Mega Mentor, Swift will join Shelton and his fellow coaches Kelly Clarkson, 37, John Legend, 40, and Gwen Stefani, 50, to advise the show’s artists and prepare each team for the Knockout Rounds. The “Lover” singer previously took on the role during season seven of the show in 2014.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.

Christie Brinkley's Ex-Husband Peter Cook, 60, Engaged to 21-Year-Old College Student

Peter Cook, the ex-husband of Christie Brinkley, is headed for the altar again.

The 60-year-old Hamptons-based architect recently got engaged to 21-year-old girlfriend Alba Jancou, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

The couple were vacationing in Santorini, Greece on Sept. 15 when Cook popped the question with a six-carat Glenn Bradford diamond ring in front of a church, Page Six reports.

“We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have found, in each other, our soulmate,” Cook said in a statement to Page Six. “We are looking forward to many years of wedded bliss!”

Cook did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Cook, who shares daughter Sailor, 21, with ex-wife Brinkley, 65, has reportedly been dating Jancou for about a year.

The pair have recently been photographed out and about together at events in the Hamptons, including Bobby Flay’s Hamptons Magazine cover celebration in July and the Hampton Classic Horse Show Grand Prix in early September.

Jancou’s LinkedIn page, which was viewed by Page Six, but has since been deleted, indicated that she is a current student at Tulane University and expects to graduate in 2021.

Prior to her time at the New Orleans, Louisiana college, Jancou “attended a prestigious English private boarding school” called Millfield, which is located in southern England.

This will be Cook’s third marriage. He was previously married to Brinkley from 1996 to 2008. The former couple divorced after Brinkley learned of Cook’s affair with his then-19-year-old assistant Diana Bianchi.

Cook then got remarried to Suzanne Shaw, shortly after his cheating scandal broke. The pair split in 2014.

After Bianchi came forward in 2007, Cook was also accused of having romantic relations with another former employee, Samantha Cole, who was 18 at the time.

He allegedly proposed marriage to her in May 1996 — three months before he became engaged to Brinkley — but she declined.
