Sister, Sister Star Marques Houston Engaged to Girlfriend Miya: 'I Said Yes to Loving You Forever'

Marques Houston, the actor best known for his role as the lovable, yet annoying neighbor of Roger Evans on Sister, Sister, is officially off the market!

Houston, 37, popped the question to his girlfriend Miya after five months of dating, he announced on Instagram Monday.

“She said ‘YES’ 💍” he captioned a close-up shot of the pair’s hands interlocked with a beach’s shoreline in the background. Sparkling in the center of the shot is Miya’s impressive diamond ring.

The actor-turned-musician also shared several other photos to his account and Instagram Stories. In one image, the pair cozy up to each other in the backseat of a car, wearing matching red shirts and faded denim ripped jeans.

“My fiancé @miyanahouston 💍” he wrote alongside the photo, tagging his wife-to-be, who had already changed her Instagram name to “Miyana Houston.”

In another photo taken on the beach, the couple lovingly stares at each other while Miya places her left hand on the side of Houston’s face and shows off her new bling. “I love the way she looks at me,” he wrote.

Another shot featured Miya and Houston kissing while they held out their hand to the camera with their fingers interlocked. “This is why I love you,” Houston wrote underneath the large princess-cut diamond.

Miya also shared a series of photos to her account, reiterating the couple’s devotion and commitment to each other, as well as to their shared Jehovah’s Witnesses faith.

“Today I said ‘yes’ to my Bestfriend. I said yes to a new beginning. I said yes to my spiritual head. I said yes to loving you forever and forever baby. I am so blessed to have you and to be yours FOREVER ❤❤” Miya wrote.

“These past months have been the best months of my life. I wouldn’t have wanted to spend them with anyone else or any other way,” she continued. “I love you so much and I promise to always be the best for Jehovah and for you . You deserve the best and it’s my goal to give you that. ❤❤ I cant wait to marry you .”

Houston and Miya began dating on Oct. 8, 2018, according to her Instagram bio. Though they’ve only been together for a few months, the pair have bonded over their dedication to their faith. Houston became a Jehovah’s Witness in 2016.

After wrapping up his role on the sitcom alongside twins Tia and Tamera Mowry, Houston embarked on a music career — first in an R&B group, and later as a solo performer — before beginning his journey in the film producing world.

Houston currently serves as the CEO of Footage Films, a California-based production company, and has worked as a writer and producer on multiple films.
