Badla is winning accolades from the masses and classes. Sujoy Ghosh's thriller has begun well, earning Rs 5.94 crore on day one. The film, which is shot in Scotland is the Hindi remake of the Spanish blockbuster, The Invisible Guest. Critics have loved Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Amrita Singh's performance in the film. The film benefitted from the good reviews and strong word of mouth. As per trade analyst, Taran Adarsh it is expected to pick up momentum over the weekend. Producer Shah Rukh Khan is also thrilled with the response to the film. Badla marks the debut of Malayalam actor Tony Luke in the Hindi film industry. The film's opening day collections are better than Pink (2016) which made Rs 4.32 crore and 102 Not Out (2018) Rs 3.52 crore. So, it is a big opening for Amitabh Bachchan.

Taapsee Pannu and Big B created magic onscreen with Pink and their second collaboration is proving to be as terrific. The film is made by Sujoy Ghosh who is the thriller specialist. In an interview to IANS, Taapsee said, "When you are in safe hands of a brilliant filmmaker and an ace co-actor there is nothing to fear." She further added, "This is going to be a riveting thriller.
