The Ministry of Information and Broadcast has announced the list of Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan awardees and quite a few celebrities from the entertainment industry have grabbed the prestigious honour. Bollywood actor Manoj Bajypayee is conferred with Padma Shri while actor-director-choreographer Prabhudheva too was honoured with the same. Actor Kader Khan, who passed away recently, was conferred Padam Shri posthumously. Singer and music composer Shankar Mahadevan too was honoured with Padma Shri. Eminent Telugu lyricist and writer Sirivennela Seetaramasastry too was honoured with the Padma Shri award this year. Malayalam actor Mohanlal was conferred with Padma Vibhushan for his service to the Indian film industry. Besides them, former Indian national cricketer Gautam Gambhir and Indian Football captain Sunil Chetri too were conferred with Padma Shri.
